Modal verbs: use of Should

- To give advise.
  [ should + infinitive (without to) ]
  •    You should be more understanding towards Mary.

- To express disapproval about what has or has not happened.
   [ should + have + past participle ]
  •   You should have been more understanding towards Mary.

In Conditional Sentences:

- "If clause": to express possibilities and suppositions. 
  •    If she should phone, tell her I'm out.
  •    Should it rain, we will not go out.

- "Main clause": to express an unreal situation.
  •     If I were you, I should accept this offer. (Unreal because I am not you.)
